Here is a second Hardy formula which is used for other applications

An Altex number two frame already prepared for black leading

Acid etch applied

Plumbago applied

Plumbago removed

The frame and plate polished and lacquer applied

Below some nice photos of the reel after a complete strip down and re-build using original replacement parts where needed
